Rust Remover 1L

DESCRIPTION:

Chemtools® CT-RM Rust Remover is a phosphoric acid-based rust remover formulated for various steel, iron, cast iron, copper, and similar active metals. Chemtools® CT-RM rust remover is specially formulated to remove existing rust and provide subsequent rust protection. This powerful rust remover effectively dissolves rust, corrosion, metal oxides, and tarnishing from most metal surfaces. Chemtools CT-RM can be applied to rusting surfaces through a brush or spray. Areas where severe blustering is visible must be scraped with a paint scraper or similar tool, before application.

APPLICATION:

Chemtools Rust Remover should be liberally applied directly to the undiluted rust by saturated cloth, brush or spray. It is recommended that loose or flaking paint and scaly rust should be removed first with a wire brush or scraper.
Inspect the treated areas after 15 to 30 minutes to ensure that light deposits of rust have been dissolved and removed and that heavier corrosion has been converted and turned black. If any areas require further treatment, reapply as necessary,
In hot conditions, clean water may be applied before the treatment, to cool the surface and assist in penetration of the Rust Remover.
When the area has been treated, ensure that the treated area is well rinsed with clean water to remove all traces of the Rust Remover before any further painting. Do not allow it to dry off before rinsing

SAFETY:

Contains phosphoric acid. Severe eye and skin irritant. In case of contact with skin or eyes, flush with water for 15 minutes. If irritation persists, seek medical attention. If swallowed drink large amounts of water. Do not induce vomiting. Get medical assistance. Do not breathe mists or vapors. Please read the MSDS before use, and wear protective eyewear and gloves.
STORAGE:

Store in a cool, dry place, in tightly closed original containers at room temperature between 5°C and 40°C. Do not place in direct sunlight or near any heat source. Do not return any used material to its original container.

PRECAUTIONS:

This product is capable of producing adverse health effects ranging from minor skin irritation to serious systemic effects. None of these materials should be used, stored, or transported until the handling precautions and recommendations as stated in the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for this and all other products being used are understood by all persons who will work with the material.
