DESCRIPTION:

Chemtools® CorrofixTM Rust Converter is a mildly acidic solution used to chemically turn rusty metal into an impervious black iron to limit further corrosion. It effortlessly converts rust into a usable waterproof metal surface, providing a long-lasting barrier.
Rust Converter dramatically increases life expectancy when used before priming, painting, or coating, and promotes adhesion for further paint applications. It is soluble in water and can be brushed or sprayed onto damp surfaces.
Rust Converter can be used on galvanized surfaces, rusted nuts and bolts, automotive panels, hand tools, and more.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

Before application, ensure the surface is free of scaly rust and loose or flaking paint. Surfaces may be cleaned with a wire brush or scraper.
Apply liberally, undiluted, directly to the rust by brush or spray.
Continue brushing the surface as the acid dries to distribute the solution evenly, and to introduce oxygen. This will produce an even color.
Inspect the surface after 15 - 30 minutes to ensure that all rust is converted, and has a black appearance. If any areas require further treatment, reapply as necessary.
In hot conditions, clean water may be applied before the treatment, to cool the surface and assist in penetration.
These steps may be repeated until a coating of the desired density and color is achieved.

STORAGE:

Keep out of reach of children. Keep the container tightly closed. Protect from sunlight. Store in a dry place between 5°C and 40°C. Containers must be secured and stored upright during transit.
