DESCRIPTION:

Chemtools® Circuit Board Lacquer is a general-purpose economical resin coating that provides insulation and protection against the environment. It is easy to apply and has a tough, high-gloss finish that is resistant to moisture and fungal growth.

APPLICATION METHODS:

Can be sprayed, dipped, or brushed. The final thickness of the coating is dependent upon the application method. To ensure satisfactory adhesion, the material to be coated should be completely clean, dry, and dust-free before coating. It is recommended that flux residues are removed as some may be corrosive if left on the PCB.
Contact your solder supplier to determine compatibility. Check the compatibility of the plastics that will be in contact with this coating before use.
Ensure switches, contacts, etc, are masked before application of conformal coating.
Aerosol: Shake the can before use. To ensure an even coating, hold the aerosol can 200 mm away from the surface at an angle of 45°, depress the trigger just before the aerosol is moved over the substrate using a smooth motion, and stop spraying just after moving off the substrate. Use short overlapping strokes, rotate the substrate by 90°, and re-spray to ensure complete coverage. After spraying, place in a dust-free, air-circulating drying cabinet until dry.
Dip: Using a suitable container, immerse the substrate completely for a few seconds, and then withdraw slowly to ensure a complete and even coating. Allow to drain and then place in a dust-free air-circulating drying cabinet until dry.
Brush: Using a clean, dry brush apply the conformal coating with smooth even strokes. Vigorous brushing should be avoided as it will lead to air bubbles. When completed, place in a dust-free air-circulating drying cabinet until dry.
STORAGE:

Store in a cool, dry place in sealed containers at room temperature between 8°C to 28°C. Please do not return any unused material to its original container.

PRECAUTIONS:

This product is capable of producing adverse health effects ranging from minor skin irritation to serious systemic effects. None of these materials should be used, stored, or transported until the handling precautions and recommendations as stated in the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for this and all other products being used are understood by all persons who will work with the material.
